Summary!!!

Danger is never far from Audra’s family farm in Lithuania. She always avoids the occupying Russian Cossack soldiers, who insist that everyone must become Russian — they have banned Lithuanian books, religion, culture, and even the language. But Audra knows her parents are involved in something secret and perilous.

In June 1893, when Cossacks arrive abruptly at their door, Audra’s parents insist that she flee, taking with her an important package and instructions for where to deliver it. But escape means abandoning her parents to a terrible fate.

As Audra embarks on a journey to deliver the mysterious package, she faces unimaginable risks, and soon she becomes caught up in a growing resistance movement. Can joining the underground network of book smugglers give Audra a chance to rescue her parents?

My Thoughts:

I found this book to be such a gem. I loved how this book tackled a time period that i was unaware of. I like how this book focused on a quiet resistance and really found that to be charming and so much fun to read about. I also liked how the main character drew so dramatically from the start of this read. I also found this book to handle so many unique topics including book smuggling, found family and also so many interesting twists that caught me off guard. I really love how books became a character in this read and loved the focus on them as tool in this revolution. I thought this was clear standalone that def tugged at my heartstrings at the end. Will def read more by this author in the future.

His estate is saddled with debt, and the late earl’s three innocent sisters are still occupying the house . . . along with Kathleen, Lady Trenear, a beautiful young widow whose sharp wit and determination are a match for Devon’s own.

A clash of wills . . .

Kathleen knows better than to trust a ruthless scoundrel like Devon. But the fiery attraction between them is impossible to deny—and from the first moment Devon holds her in his arms, he vows to do whatever it takes to possess her. As Kathleen finds herself yielding to his skillfully erotic seduction, only one question remains:

Can she keep from surrendering her heart to the most dangerous man she’s ever known?

My Thoughts:

This has been the first ever read in this genre that I read. I really loved this book. I thought this book was such a fun read. I loved not only the love to hate romance but also the setting that this place took place in. I also love the side characters that we meet and so excited to get them in future books. I really loved the main female character as well. I like how this book dealt with dealing with grief and other unique elements. This book was so sexy, but i loved it. I can’t wait to read more in this series in the future

Summary!!!

They call her Traitor Kate. It’s a title Kate Brighton inherited from her father after he tried to assassinate the high king of Rime.

Cast out of the nobility, Kate now works for the royal courier service. Only the most skilled ride for the Relay and only the fastest survive, for when night falls, the drakes—deadly flightless dragons—come out to hunt. Fortunately, Kate has a secret edge: She is a wilder, born with forbidden magic that allows her to influence the minds of animals.

And it’s this magic that leads her to a caravan massacred by drakes in broad daylight—the only survivor Corwin Tormaine, the son of the king. Her first love, the boy she swore to forget after he condemned her father to death.

With their paths once more entangled, Kate and Corwin must put the past behind them to face this new threat and an even darker menace stirring in the kingdom.

My Thoughts:

I wanted to adore this book and it just did not happen. I really oveall did enjoy the characters and found the world building to be so compelling but the pacing of this book just did not wow me and it was very slow and did not capture my attention as much as i wanted it to. I still am intrigued to see what happens next. I just struggled with the pacing overall. I also found the side characters to be be super fun. I will def keep reading it eventually.

Summary!!

Dark pasts and forbidden romances haunt three ambitious sisters as they fight for their lives in this sequel to Rule, which New York Times bestselling author Elly Blake called “dazzling” and “pulse-pounding.”
Sisters Akeylah, Ren, and Zofi are all a step closer to their dying father’s throne, a step closer to the crown that will bring one of them to rule over Kolonya. But the sisters’ pasts continue to haunt them. Each hides a secret marked with blood and betrayal, and now their blackmailer is holding nothing back. When King Andros discovers the sisters’ traitorous pasts, the consequences will shake the entire kingdom to its core.
As Kolonya’s greatest threat stalks closer and closer, weaving a web of fear and deceit around Ren, Zofi, and Akeylah, even the people they love are under suspicion. If the sisters are going to survive, they’ll have to learn to trust each other above all else and work together, not only to save themselves, but to protect everyone and everything they hold dear.
With shocking reveals and suspenseful storytelling, this breathtaking sequel to Rule will keep you guessing until the very last page.

I would give this book 5 for a review.

Summary!!!

The Shadow Market is a meeting point for faeries, werewolves, warlocks, and vampires. There, the Downworlders buy and sell magical objects, make dark bargains, and whisper secrets they do not want the Nephilim to know. Through two centuries, however, there has been a frequent visitor to the Shadow Market from the City of Bones, the very heart of the Shadowhunters’ world. As a Silent Brother, Brother Zachariah is a sworn keeper of the laws and lore of the Nephilim. But once he was a Shadowhunter called Jem Carstairs, and his love, then and always, is the warlock Tessa Gray. And Jem is searching through the Shadow Markets, in many different cities over long years, for a relic from his past.

Follow Jem and see, against the backdrop of the Shadow Market’s dark dealings and festival, Anna Lightwood’s doomed romance, Matthew Fairchild’s great sin, and Tessa Gray as she is plunged into a world war. Valentine Morgenstern buys a soul at the Market and a young Jace Wayland’s soul finds safe harbor. In the Market is hidden a lost heir and a beloved ghost, and no one can save you once you have traded away your heart. Not even Brother Zachariah.

My Thoughts:

Overall, I really loved the concept of this story following Jem throughout history and hunting for the child. I loved going throughout history and seeing all my favorite characters new and old. I really loved seeing so many fan favorites and found it to be so fun. I really do love Jem as a character and loved seeing all the different verisions of a shadow market as well. It was such a fun read and got my ready for chain of gold.
