Summary!!!

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

My Brief Thoughts:

I thought this was a super fun read. I really loved the alien mythology that was introduced to us and also the cast of characters. I really do love the lead girl in this story but am struggling to adore to adore the boy lead cause he can be a jerk. But he does have his moments and I am def interested in reading more in this series. I think the pacing of this book and also the mythology are the highlights of this series for me so far. I really am intrigued to see what happens next. If you were a fan of roswell back in the day i rec. you check out this read.

My Extended Thoughts!!

Characters: Since this book is the first book in new series, the characters did lack so depth but I have high hopes for the future book in this series. I did like the characters but  I felt like I need more time to become emotionally invested in the characters!

The world building: I felt the world building was the highlight of the novel and was the thing that kept me to keep reading. I was really fascinated by the world the most in this novel. It def screamed roswel vibes!

Pace! I thought his book was a super fast pace read and was hard to put down!

Will I keep reading this series! Yes for sure! Hopefully after book con!

Bring me your Hearts by Sara Wolf!!

Summary!

Zera is a Heartless—the immortal, unaging soldier of a witch. Bound to the witch Nightsinger, Zera longs for freedom from the woods they hide in. With her heart in a jar under Nightsinger’s control, she serves the witch unquestioningly.

Until Nightsinger asks Zera for a prince’s heart in exchange for her own, with one addendum: if she’s discovered infiltrating the court, Nightsinger will destroy Zera’s heart rather than see her tortured by the witch-hating nobles.

Crown Prince Lucien d’Malvane hates the royal court as much as it loves him—every tutor too afraid to correct him and every girl jockeying for a place at his darkly handsome side. No one can challenge him—until the arrival of Lady Zera. She’s inelegant, smart-mouthed, carefree, and out for his blood. The prince’s honor has him quickly aiming for her throat.

So begins a game of cat and mouse between a girl with nothing to lose and a boy who has it all.

Winner takes the loser’s heart.

Literally.

When she was a kid, she was too busy eating dirt to write her first terrible book. Twenty years later, she picked up a keyboard and started mashing her fists on it and created the monster known as the Lovely Vicious series. Her newest series is the Ruthless Song trilogy, coming 6/5/2018. She lives in San Diego with two cats, a crippling-yet-refreshing sense of self-doubt, and not enough fruit tarts ever.

Summary!!

Scandal, secrets, and heartbreak abound in this juicy, modern girl-meets-prince story–perfect for fans of Stephanie Perkins and Jennifer E. Smith.

For the first time ever, the Weston sisters are at the same boarding school. After an administration scandal at Libby’s all-girls school threatens her chances at a top university, she decides to join Charlotte at posh and picturesque Sussex Park.

Social-climbing Charlotte considers it her sisterly duty to bring Libby into her circle: Britain’s young elites, glamorous teens who vacation in Hong Kong and the South of France and are just as comfortable at a polo match as they are at a party.
It’s a social circle that just so happens to include handsome seventeen-year-old Prince Edward, heir to Britain’s throne.
If there are any rules of sisterhood, “Don’t fall for the same guy” should be one of them. But sometimes chemistry–even love–grows where you least expect it. In the end, there may be a price to pay for romancing the throne…and more than one path to happily ever after.
