A heart to protect. A debt to repay. A game to win.

After being swept up in the magical world of Caraval, Donatella Dragna has finally escaped her father and saved her sister Scarlett from a disastrous arranged marriage. The girls should be celebrating, but Tella isn’t yet free. She made a desperate bargain with a mysterious criminal, and what Tella owes him no one has ever been able to deliver: Caraval Master Legend’s true name.

The only chance of uncovering Legend’s identity is to win Caraval, so Tella throws herself into the legendary competition once more—and into the path of the murderous heir to the throne, a doomed love story, and a web of secrets…including her sister’s. Caraval has always demanded bravery, cunning, and sacrifice. But now the game is asking for more. If Tella can’t fulfill her bargain and deliver Legend’s name, she’ll lose everything she cares about—maybe even her life. But if she wins, Legend and Caraval will be destroyed forever.

Welcome, welcome to Caraval…the games have only just begun.

Gwen, Pete, and the others have escaped from Everland. But the safe haven they hoped to find at Alnwick Castle doesn’t exist. With the Queen of England on her deathbed, Duchess Alyssa has stepped in, but things have gotten worse as the cure Doc created for the Horologia virus has mutated, accelerating the disease. The only possible solution he can think of is to go back to the virus’s origin: an extinct poisonous apple. Legend has it a tree bearing the apple might be found at the center of a deadly labyrinth hidden deep within Germany. A place that no one in their right mind enters. With no other options, Alyssa sets out with only her sword, her wits, and the help of Maddox Hadder, a wild boy who oversees the castle gardens. To get to the center of the maze, she’ll be forced to battle monsters more terrifying than her darkest nightmares. But can anyone truly survive the madness of the maze? And what if there’s no apple to be found there?

My Brief  Thoughts:

I really enjoyed this book a lot. I think that is the prefect type of bridge series between middle grade and YA. I enjoyed getting into different characters heads because the POV characters we got in this novel. I loved the world building so much and how she crafted the world building of wonderland. I really enjoyed this book. I found it to be such a fun fast pace adventure. It was also a super fast read and I am really excited to read the final book in this series soon.

My Extended Thoughts!!!

Characters: I really loved the new POV characters that we met in this novel. I really loved their point views a lot. I also loved how they obvs. had elements of famous characters from alice in wonderland and wonderland. I really loved also how we got to check in out characters from the previous book and it was really a book that expanded the characters that we knew well.

World Building: The world building in these books are so well done. I loved all the twists and turns she did with wonderland.  I really enjoy the world building in this series alot and how i found these worlds so much fun and super connected to wonderland but also so different.

Pace: This story was super fast pace and def was  a quest themed novel with super high stakes. I really was super invested in this story!

Pick up next book! Yup it is on my May TBR!!!
