Challenge: Beat the backlist and China re-read
The covenant that was meant to keep the wizard wars at bay has been stolen, and Trinity must prepare for attack. Everyone is doing their part — Seph is monitoring the Weirwalls; Jack and Ellen are training their ghostly army; even Anaweir Will and Fitch are setting booby traps around the town’s perimeter. But to Jason Haley, it seems like everyone wants to keep him out of the action. He may not be the most powerful wizard in Trinity, but he’s prepared to fight for his friends.
My Brief Thoughts:
I really loved this conclusion a lot! I loved how this book did not really have one lead character but focused on all the characters we meet in the previous two books. It was such a wild end and some of the parts really tugged at my emotions. I really had no memory of this book because I read it so long ago. I think Seph is still my favorite character. But i really loved all the female characters that were in this series and how many different types of girls we had. I also loved the path of Nick in these books. I am so intrigued to see what the rest of this series brings!!
My Extended Thoughts:
Characters: I really loved all of these characters. I liked how this book did not have “one” main character but that we followed many of the characters that we met in book one and two. I thought the characters even thought there were so many were given enough time to build and complete their arcs. I also though all the characters were so well drawn and super compelling to read about.
World Building: I said this in my other reviews that this is such a good foundational fantasy series. Though out all the books in this series the world building was super solid. Def read them in order just trust me!
Plot: I enjoyed the plot and most of the twists were shocking and I did not see them coming. I do think this book did have “slow” moments but then this was originally the last book in a series. It was later extended the series but I think those down -times really filled out the world and made it satisfying conclusion.
