Can this OTP become canon?

Review:

* I got this book for free from the publisher for my honest review*
I really did love this book. It was such a fun concept for a novel and it for cont. it was super hard to predict the events of this novel. I loved both main characters a lot and also their romance. It was very hot and super fun. I loved the elements of fandom and also hollywood involved with the male lead and I enjoyed his character a lot. I thought the story was grounded in reality but also focused so much on fandom and also con life. I was hooked from page one. I loved getting both characters POV and it made the book even more compelling. I would love a book in the future following the other two heartthrobs because I want to learn more about them. It was super fun read and def. is considered NA so be warned younger readers.

Top 5 Wed: Series that got Better

Hi book friends!

I am back with a top five wed. I am happy to be back. I found this topic interesting because normally I feel book series get better but some series def. stood out to me. Here are my Top five series that got better.

  1. Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

I talked about this in the couples that I love to hate but when the city of bones series moved past the simon, clary and Jace triangle I enjoyed the book series so much more and really prefer the last books to the first in this series and won’t even re-read those books I start reading after book 2. I am about to start the final book in that series and then move on to the other novels in that series. I felt the stories got more complicated and interested me more when romance triangle drama was not the focus.

2. The Maze Runner by James Dashner

The_Maze_Runner_cover.png

I thought that the book series after book one got so much better. It really focused more on the characters and also went into some more intense emotional drama but It moved past being a typical dystopian novel and I just loved how James changed the game and setting in each book and how those things impacted the characters. It was fun series and I hope to read The Fever Code prequel soon!

3. Bloodlines by  Richelle Mead

Bloodlines_Novel.jpg

I overall grew to love this series but It started off very slow in book one and two but around book 3 this book increased the drama and the intensity and the romance and i really loved and loved how difference it was from VA. I think sydney became one of my favorite characters and it was fun series but it started of slow and I highly rec that you keep reading.

4. The Hannah Swensen Series by Joanne Fluke

51vCxbthmsL._SX306_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

This one is so easy because the mysteries just get stronger. The first couple of books in this series the mysteries are so easy to predict but the later books in this series became decent and the by then I have enjoyed all the characters and stronger mysteries made me love this series even more.

5. These Broken Stars:

51mdeHf+QzL._SX339_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

This is book is a very intense sci-fi novel and the first book was a rough read just because it focused so much on the science stuff that it lost me at points. I grew to like the second and third book more because with the sci-fi foundation I was able to focus on the characters more and I loved all the interconnections between the other characters in the later novels!

Comment below with series that you think got better!

Excerpt: One True Pairing by Cathy Yardley

Jake handed over a few hundred dollar bills. “Hey, this is too much!”

“You rescued me, you’ve driven me around, you stood up to a manager for me. This is the least I can do,” Jake said, his eyes meeting hers. He looked so damned sincere. “Anything else I can do to make it up to you?”

The guy was a sweetheart, she realized. He’d probably be a beautiful mark—just enough naiveté, especially for Hollywood. Chivalry, nobility. The guy was a soft touch.

She couldn’t help it. Her grinned curved wider, and she looked at him suggestively. “Have anything particular in mind?”

“What? Oh! No. That’s not what I meant,” he stammered. But she saw his pulse racing in the thick muscles of his neck, and the way his pupils dilated.

Might not be what he meant, but he was thinking about it.

And damn it, now so am I.

“Why not?” she teased, pitching her voice as if she were hurt that he wouldn’t consider it, just to watch him squirm. And squirm he did.

“No. I mean, I’d love to, don’t get me wrong. You are . . .” His gaze now swept over her, and she felt it like a chinchilla mitten, all soft and sensual and something you just wanted to rub up against. “Unbelievable. But I don’t want you to think that I’m just taking advantage of the situation, or anything. I mean, I don’t expect you to have sex with me.”

“Relax, Boy Scout. I’m just messing with you,” she said, laughing and patting his cheek. “Really, it’s cool. Maybe score me a one-day pass to the Con? My sister’s a big fan, she’d love to get some video of it.” Since Cressida couldn’t leave the house, video would be the next best thing to attending in person.

“Just because I don’t expect anything,” he said quietly, “doesn’t mean I don’t want anything, Hailey.”

She blinked. Her heart started to rhumba in her chest. God. Sex with Jake Reese?

He was messing with her, she chastised herself. He had to be.

She started to take a step away from him. She had to get out of here, before she started getting ideas—reckless, stupid ideas.

Before she could pull away, he grasped her wrist—gently, but inexorably. He kept it against his cheek, then turned his face, letting her fingertips rub against the stubble before placing a hot kiss in the center of her palm.

Just like that, her lady parts tingled in anticipation.

“Oh, my,” she whispered.

“I’d like to take you to dinner,” he said, his voice low, those blue, blue eyes mesmerizing. He’d lost his stammer, and he’d somehow switched from awkward suitor to hell-yeah, hot-fudge-sinful man. “Tonight. When do you get off work?”

Wow. Zero to turned on in three-point-two seconds. That had to be some sort of record.

She swallowed hard.

This is a bad idea.

“I guess I could have dinner.” Her voice came out breathy, and she cleared her throat, getting more businesslike. “I mean, I’ll be hungry

This book blew me away. I love the elements of fandom love, comic con and also the average girls falls for a movie star all with a adorable fairy tale twist. I love both characters and read this book so fast. It was so unique book but it also just brought tears to me eyes throughout the book both tears of joy and sadness. It was such a fast book to read and I adored the characters so much.

I am hoping to read this book next and will give you a review hopefully by Friday!

We know It was you: Non-Spoiler Review

We know It was you by Maggie Thrash

Published by  Simon Pulse on October 4, 2016

Genres: Young Adult, contemporary, Mystery

Pages:352

Format: Arc

Source: Barnes and Noble feast

amazon   goodreads Barnes and Noble

I would give this book 3 for a review.

Summary:

Twin Peaks meets Pretty Little Liars in acclaimed author Maggie Thrash’s new Strange Truth series.

It’s better to know the truth. At least sometimes.

Halfway through Friday night’s football game, beautiful cheerleader Brittany Montague—dressed as the giant Winship Wildcat mascot—hurls herself off a bridge into Atlanta’s surging Chattahoochee River.

Just like that, she’s gone.

Eight days later, Benny Flax and Virginia Leeds will be the only ones who know why.

My Thoughts:

This book did not impress me. The books was could be fast pace at points because a mystery was at the center but it was not a compelling mystery. The characters and story did just not capture my attention. I struggled a bit with liking many of the characters in this novel. I did think the pacing of this novel was also problem. This book did have a lot sexual content that at points I was not a fan of. I know this is a first book in the series so I may check out book 2 in october but I was not impressed by it.

I would give this book 5 for a review.

Summary

New York Times bestselling author Cora Carmack’s young adult debut: Roar.

In a land ruled and shaped by violent magical storms, power lies with those who control them.

Aurora Pavan comes from one of the oldest Stormling families in existence. Long ago, the ungifted pledged fealty and service to her family in exchange for safe haven, and a kingdom was carved out from the wildlands and sustained by magic capable of repelling the world’s deadliest foes. As the sole heir of Pavan, Aurora’s been groomed to be the perfect queen. She’s intelligent and brave and honorable. But she’s yet to show any trace of the magic she’ll need to protect her people.

To keep her secret and save her crown, Aurora’s mother arranges for her to marry a dark and brooding Stormling prince from another kingdom. At first, the prince seems like the perfect solution to all her problems. He’ll guarantee her spot as the next queen and be the champion her people need to remain safe. But the more secrets Aurora uncovers about him, the more a future with him frightens her. When she dons a disguise and sneaks out of the palace one night to spy on him, she stumbles upon a black market dealing in the very thing she lacks—storm magic. And the people selling it? They’re not Stormlings. They’re storm hunters.

Legend says that her ancestors first gained their magic by facing a storm and stealing part of its essence. And when a handsome young storm hunter reveals he was born without magic, but possesses it now, Aurora realizes there’s a third option for her future besides ruin or marriage.
She might not have magic now, but she can steal it if she’s brave enough.

Challenge a tempest. Survive it. And you become its master.

My Thoughts:

I loved this book so much. I thought the world building was done so well and also I really loved the main characters in the story and the diverse POV we got in the story. I love the various types of magic that we were exposed to. I just was so invested in the both the characters and the world that was created. I loved the way you could not predict this book and really shocked me through the so many twists and turns. I also loved the male lead in this book and how Roar was able to find a new path in her life. I was so enhchanted by this novel and need the second book soon!

Better of Friends: Non-Spoiler Review

Better Off Friends  by Elizabeth Eulberg

Published by Point on February 25, 2014

Genres: Young Adult, contemporary

Pages: 293

Format: Paperback

Source: Personally bought

amazon Goodreads  Barnes and Noble

I would give this book 4 for a review.

Summary:

For Macallan and Levi, it was friends at first sight. Everyone says guys and girls can’t be just friends, but these two are. They hang out after school, share tons of inside jokes, their families are super close, and Levi even starts dating one of Macallan’s friends. They are platonic and happy that way.

Eventually they realize they’re best friends — which wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t keep getting in each other’s way. Guys won’t ask Macallan out because they think she’s with Levi, and Levi spends too much time joking around with Macallan, and maybe not enough time with his date. They can’t help but wonder . . . are they more than friends or are they better off without making it even more complicated?

From romantic comedy superstar Elizabeth Eulberg comes a fresh, fun examination of a question for the ages: Can guys and girls ever really be just friends? Or are they always one fight away from not speaking again — and one kiss away from true love?

My Thoughts:

This was adorable and such a quick read. I literally read it in about a day. I loved both main characters so much and how the story was structured. It reminded me so much of my own high school experience having a best friend who was a guy. I just enjoyed the drama that came with because to me it was real life. I want to read more by this author soon. The end was a tad predictable towards the end but the structure made me love this book a lot. It was very fun read that want to read again. I also love it handed many different type of friendships and relationships in the book
